Ubuntu Computer Janitor & Mouse Issue

I mentioned earlier that after doing the auto-update, there were 4 total Ubuntu OS options when booting up the machine. I was poking through the menus when I came across a utility. It was under System/Administration/Computer Janitor. The mouseover tooltip stated that it was used to “Clean up a system so it’s more like a freshly installed one”
Starting it up, it found two things under the “Unused” column, and had them checked off:
linux-headers-2.6.31-14
linux-headers-2.6.31-14-generic
Clicking “Do selected tasks” gave me a warning to be sure I was doing something I wanted to do. Clicking ok, the items were removed from the “Unused” column, and it gave me a prompt to leave the program.
After rebooting, I had the same menu options, there is still something I am missing.
Also, my mouse cursor disappeared when booting the system back up. It still functioned, but nothing was visible and I had to “feel” around to use any menus or open programs. A reboot seemed to have fixed the issue.

One of those hit me the other day when I saw an Ubuntu logo, and was curious exactly how far this particular Linux distribution had advanced. I’ve seen Ubuntu in the news, and how Dell offers it on their machines. I’ve actually used a live CD before a couple of years ago to get on the internet to download a driver. That was about a 5 minute adventure though, and consisted of me finding the Firefox icon, so it hardly qualifies as “using” the operating system.
